OH WOW! children’s center to reopen to the public in May
YOUNGSTOWN — OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science & Technology will reopen to the public at 9 a.m. May 15 in the historic McCrory Building, 15 Central Square.
Due to COVID-19, OH WOW! closed to the public in March 2020 and began to design, produce and distribute OH WOW! STEM SAKS (Science Activity Kits) to help educators and families.
OH WOW! opened downtown in 2011 and purchased the McCrory Building from First National Bank in 2019. It began Phase 1 of a multimillion dollar renovation in January, with the vision of reorganizing visitor circulation and creating a new entrance and welcoming lobby on Central Square.
Several new exhibit galleries are being introduced into the revised layout, along with several old favorites that are being rejuvenated and relocated, a news release states.
OH WOW! will be open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with two sessions offered each of these days: 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to register here.
Admission is free for members and children under age 2. General admission is $8, and $7 for veterans, seniors and educators. Group rates are available.
