COLUMBUS — Sam Randazzo, Gov. Mike DeWine's appointee for Ohio Public Utilities Commission chairman, resigned from his position today, according to a release from the governor's office.
Randazzo's home was searched by the FBI Monday. The FBI has not provided any details about Monday's search.
When asked about the situation Tuesday, DeWine said there were no indications that Randazzo was under investigation or the target of an investigation.
DeWine announced in February 2019 the appointment of Sam Randazzo, a longtime utility attorney and lobbyist, as chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
PUCO Vice Chairman M. Beth Trombold will be acting chairman until a new chairman is named.
