YOUNGSTOWN — A slope failure in Mill Creek Park has resulted in the temporary closure of a section of East Newport Drive between Kreider’s Entrance and Kiwatha Drive.

For the safety of park patrons, access to and through this construction site by pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles is strictly prohibited.

This section of roadway will remain closed while the planning and construction of this extensive roadway repair project is completed. A completion date has yet to be established for this project.

To maintain use of and access to the East Newport Boat Launch, East Newport Drive between the Boat Launch and Kiwatha Drive has been opened to two-way vehicular traffic.

For the duration of the drive repair project, vehicles are temporarily permitted to drive southbound on East Newport Drive from Kiwatha Drive to the Boat Launch.
