BOARDMAN — Friends and family have organized a pasta dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Banquet Hall, 5235 South Ave., to benefit a Mahoning Valley woman in her fight against cancer.

Gina Fecko, 44, a mother of five and wife of former Cardinal Mooney football coach P.J. Fecko, recently was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, with surgery to follow at the Cleveland Clinic.

The dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs served with bread and salad, with outdoor seating and takeout available. Also, there will be a 50/50 drawing, a basket auction, raffles and more. Organizers are asking attendees to observe mask wearing and social distancing rules set forth by the state.

Tickets for the dinner are $15 per person and can be purchased here or by calling Jaci D’Apolito at 330-398-4425. Tickets also will be sold at the door on the day of the event. Dinner sponsorships also are available in the following tiers: Level 1, $500; Level 2, $300; and Level 3, $100.

For those who want to help but can’t attend the event, a GoFundMe campaign for Gina is underway, with a goal to raise $100,000 to assist with costs.
