Stars of classic rock will shine at YSU’s Rock the Dome next week

The free shows featuring the planetarium’s SkySkan Definiti Theater System feature the music of classic-rock groups.

YOUNGSTOWN — Shake off those post-holiday blues with some classic rock'n'roll as Youngstown State University’s Ward Beecher Planetarium presents Rock the Dome next Friday and Saturday (Jan. 24 and 25).

The free shows featuring the planetarium’s SkySkan Definiti Theater System feature the music of the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Queen, as well as David Bowie, the Doobie Brothers, Rush, the Police and many other classic-rock groups.

Jan. 24

  • 5 p.m.: “For Those About to Rock: A Salute to Classic Rock!”
  • 6 p.m.: “Out of This World: All Songs Space-related”
  • 7 p.m.: The Beatles
  • 8 p.m.: Lit Mix
  • 9 p.m.: Queen
  • 10 p.m.: Pink Floyd

Jan. 25

  • 2 p.m.: “Living in the 80s”
  • 3 p.m.: “For Those About to Rock: A Salute to Classic Rock!”
  • 5 p.m.: “Living in the 80s”
  • 6 p.m.: “Out of This World: All Songs Space-related”
  • 7 p.m.: The Beatles
  • 8 p.m.: Lit Mix
  • 9 p.m.: Queen
  • 10 p.m.: Pink Floyd
