State reports 21,132 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 507 more than Wednesday.
In addition, the state is also reporting 999 "probable cases," which is a new expanded case definition provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Statewide, 4,140 people have been hospitalized, 1,167 of whom are in intensive care units.
There are 1,044 cases in Mahoning County; 371 in Trumbull; and 311 in Columbiana. Columbiana's figures include confirmed and probable cases.
Statewide, there have been confirmed 1,153 deaths, including 115 in Mahoning County; 35 in Trumbull; and 32 in Columbiana; along with another 118 "probable deaths."
Mahoning County's 115 reported COVID-19 deaths remains the third-highest among all Ohio's 88 counties, according to the state's COVID-19 dashboard, which presents confirmed cases, hospitalizations and deaths in each county.
Mahoning County has the seventh-highest number of total cases in the state. With an estimated population of 228,683 people and 1,044 confirmed cases as of Thursday, that's about one case of the virus for every 219 people.
