STRUTHERS — The Struthers Historical Society with the cooperation of the City of Struthers will be offering military banners to honor those who served in the military.

A Military Honor Banner can be purchased and will be displayed on the city’s lamp posts and poles for Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day, according to a news release.

Each banner will cost $125 and will hang for three years during the three holidays. Renewal options will be available at the end of three years.

The banner design will feature the military member’s name, photograph, branch of service, years of service and the war or conflict in which he or she served.

The honoree may be living or deceased and must have been a current or past resident of the city or village of Struthers.

A copy of a military photo is preferred as they will not be returned. The photo may be in color or black and white and 3-by-5-inches or larger in size. Digital photos require a high resolution. If a military photo is not available, other options are available.
