YOUNGSTOWN — The seventh annual Teddy Foltz Memorial Poker Run raised $22,088 for the Sojourner House Domestic Violence Program.

The money raised was nearly double what has been raised in past events, a news release states.

The event, which took place June 25 at Papa's Sports Bar, 1639 Poland Ave., featured food, entertainment, T-shirts, vendors, a ticket auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Teddy Foltz endured years of abuse in his home, which resulted in his death in 2013 at age 14. The Mahoning County coroner said he died from blunt-force trauma to the head.
