YOUNGSTOWN — As part of its Newman Levy Speaker Series, Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, will present “The Jews of the Titanic” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday (Nov. 8).

The luxury ship hit an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean on its maiden voyage. More than 100 of the 1,500 passengers who died were Jewish, according to a news release. In this lecture, Marcia Levy will discuss the Jewish passengers on board: who they were, what happened to those that survived and how their lives unfolded after the tragedy.

The program is free and open to everyone. Lunch will be served. Visit to register, or call 330-746-3250, ext. 195.
