WASHINGTON — U.S. Reps. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, and Dan Kildee, D-Mich., have introduced the Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act.

The legislation would provide tax credits for American manufacturers at every stage of the solar manufacturing supply chain, from polysilicon production to solar cells to fully assembled solar modules, a news release states.

“America has the best workforce in the world, but it is our job to make sure they are competing on a level playing field,” Ryan said in the release. “That is why I am proud to introduce this important legislation that supports American manufacturing and will create good paying jobs in communities across the country.”

The legislation was also introduced by U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., in the Senate.
