Valley libraries partner with Children’s Hunger Alliance to distribute food

Free, ready-to-eat meals for children age 18 and younger can be picked up at the Newport and Michael Kusalaba library branches.

YOUNGSTOWN — The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, in collaboration with Children’s Hunger Alliance, is distributing ready-to-eat meals available for pickup for children age 18 and younger at the Newport and Michael Kusalaba library branches.

The free, ready-to-eat meals, consisting of nonperishable food, will be available for pickup from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 2 to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The libraries are closed on Sundays, but meals for that day and holidays can be picked up in advance. 

Because of COVID-19 precautions, meals cannot be eaten inside the libraries.
