COLUMBUS — Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, Ohio Department of Health director, will give a COVID-19 update at 11 a.m. today.

He will be joined by Dr. Michael Canady, chief executive officer of Holzer Health System, and Dr. Brian Kaminski, vice president of Quality and Patient Safety at ProMedica.

The Ohio Department of Health on Wednesday reported 7,747 new cases of COVID-19 in the state. That includes 140 new cases in Mahoning County (for a total of 25,988), 102 in Trumbull (19,195) and 68 in Columbiana (11,100).

The state on Monday broke the 1.3 million mark for total cases since the pandemic began.
