WATCH LIVE | YSU moot court team debates vaccine mandate case

Students will rely on existing U.S. Supreme Court precedents to argue both sides of the issue and will face questions from a panel of judges.

YOUNGSTOWN — In celebration of Constitution Day, Youngstown State University’s nationally ranked moot court team will argue a hypothetical case involving the constitutionality of a federal polio vaccine mandate.

The event will be livestreamed on YSU’s YouTube channel from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. It also can be viewed above.

Students will rely on existing U.S. Supreme Court precedents to argue both sides of the issue and will face questions from a panel of judges, including:

  • Justice Pat DeWine of the Ohio Supreme Court;
  • Judge Chad Readler, former acting assistant attorney general for the United States and currently a judge on the federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals;
  • Judge Gene Donofrio of the 7th District Court of Appeals for the state of Ohio.
