Westside Bowl chosen in CityScape's Youngstown Beautification Awards

Oak Hill Neighborhood Association, First Unitarian Universalist Church and Helping Hands Ministries were honored in the community category.

YOUNGSTOWN — Westside Bowl has been named the business winner for the 14th annual “Youngstown CityScape Beautification Awards.

Nineteen other awards in residential and community categories were presented in a virtual ceremony.

Winners in the community category were: 

  • Oak Hill Neighborhood Association.
  • First Unitarian Universalist Church.
  • Helping Hands Ministries.

Winners in the residential category were:

  • Cynthia Rickard.
  • Felipe Soto.
  • Juan Torres.
  • Sarah Fenton.
  • Norm Cappitte.
  • Robert and Lisa Demain.
  • Patricia Coney.
  • Richard Poole.
  • Paul and Dorphine Peace.
  • Betty Myers.
  • Eric Jones.
  • Mary Crock.
  • George and La Phaun Bennet.
  • Nancy Heck.
  • Simon and Florin Ciuhulescu.

“Each year, we recognize the effort, creativity, and pride that those in the community display with their property," said Sharon Letson, executive director of Youngstown CityScape, in a news release. "It may be a multi-million dollar development or simply an exceptionally beautiful lawn in a neighborhood.

"CityScape’s awards are a way for us to recognize the energy in our city and say ‘thank you’ to others who are committed to making a difference in helping Youngstown look inviting,” Letson said.
