YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown City School District plans to give about 100 leftover coronavirus vaccines to family members of employees.

Denise Dick, director of communications and public relations for Youngstown City Schools, said the vaccines were offered to family members who are 65 and older, are immunocompromised or have other pre-existing conditions.

Dick said today the leftover vaccine doses were all claimed in about an hour and a half by family members of employees.

The district received 1,100 Moderna coronavirus vaccines to start vaccinating faculty and staff Feb. 3. The vaccines were offered to about 1,350 faculty and staff members.

Dick said about 100 vaccines were left over after vaccinating faculty and staff.

The district sent out an email asking family members to make an appointment at one of the YOUcare QUICKmed clinics.
