YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Playhouse has received a $5,000 grant from the Kennedy Family Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
The grant will be used for general operating expenses as the Playhouse returns to live performances and regular programming after the COVID-19 pandemic, a news release states.
“The Youngstown Playhouse extends our deep gratitude to the Kennedy Family Fund and the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley,” Kayla Boye, executive director of The Youngstown Playhouse, said in the release. “This vital support will allow The Youngstown Playhouse to play a leading role in spurring our community’s recovery from the pandemic through the power of the performing arts.”The Youngstown Playhouse, now in its 97th season, is currently presenting “The Sunset Limited,” its first on-site performance since the start of the pandemic. The production, directed by Charles Simon, will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. For more information and tickets, click here.
