YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown City School District’s Visual and Performing Arts program will celebrate the silver screen with the VPA Winter Performance, "A Hollywood Holiday," at Chaney and East high schools this month.

The East performance will be at 5 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 5) in the school’s auditorium, 474 Bennington Ave.

The Chaney performance will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 in the school’s auditorium, 731 S. Hazelwood Ave.

Admission is free for both performances. A visual art exhibit, featuring the works of East and Chaney visual art students, will be on display at both of the schools in conjunction with the performances.

“The performances will have a focus on holiday classics, many from the silver screen, including excerpts from ‘The Grinch,’ ‘White Christmas’ and ‘The Polar Express,’ to name a few,” Tracy Schuler Vivo, the district’s VPA director, said in a news release.

Information about the VPA community and collaborative performance schedules is listed on the Visual and Performing Arts page of the district's website
