YOUNGSTOWN — he Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber is seeking a new president and CEO to replace Tom Humphries, who returned to the leadership role in November.
The chamber Board of Directors announced its search in a Thursday press release. The board expects to fill the role in the first quarter of 2021. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 16.

"This is an outstanding opportunity for a chamber of commerce, association, economic development or public- or private-sector executive to lead and expand an organization committed to the success of the Youngstown-Warren region. The Regional Chamber plays a key role in retaining existing businesses in our community, assisting companies with their expansions and working to attract new businesses to our market. The chamber enjoys solid member relations and an excellent reputation with key organizations in the area, region and state, along with strong fiscal results. The president and CEO will inherit an enthusiastic and dedicated chamber staff and a committed Board of Directors. This position represents a leadership opportunity to bring the organization to 'the next level,' along with an exciting role in defining the Valley for years to come."
The ideal candidate, according to the release, is currently a "top executive" at an economic development-focused organization like a chamber of commerce. Alternative experience includes a senior executive role at a similar, "larger-like" enterprise or an executive role at a "complex" private- or public-sector entity.
A Bachelor's degree is required in either: the humanities; political science; business; public administration; economics or other related concentrations. Advanced degrees are preferred.
