YSU reports 1 new coronavirus case

There are 14 total cases reported as of Sept. 15. The university's dashboard will be updated every Monday.

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University reported one new coronavirus case on Monday according to the university’s new dashboard.

According to the dashboard, the university has reported 14 total cases for the weeks ending Aug. 1 through Sept. 5, 12 of which were students.

The dashboard presents weekly case totals among students and employees, taken from local health department data and individual reports to the university, and will be updated on Mondays.

The YSU Office of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety is expected to take up contact tracing duties and will inform those who may have come into close contact with infected persons, according to the email.

Of those students, nine reported they lived off-campus; another three said they were never on campus. None of them live on-campus. Two of the cases were reported from employees.
