YSU reports 29 new coronavirus cases
YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University reported 29 new coronavirus cases on Monday according to the university's dashboard.
Of the new cases, 23 were reported by students who live off-campus, one case was reported by a student living on-campus and five cases were reported by employees.
According to the dashboard, the university has reported 249 total cases from Aug. 1 through Nov. 21. Of these, 225 are students and 24 are employees.
Of those students, 210 reported they lived off-campus; 12 of them live on-campus. Another three said they were never on campus.
The dashboard presents weekly case totals among students and employees, taken from local health department data and individual reports to the university, and will be updated on Mondays.
The YSU Office of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety is expected to take up contact tracing duties and will inform those who may have come into close contact with infected persons, according to the email.
