YSU's Dana School of Music to present 3 recitals

Diane Yazvac will provide piano accompaniment at two of the performances.

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music will present recitals this week.

Kathryn Thomas Umble’s flute studio will present a recital featuring music by Chaminade, Reinecke, Copland, Franck and Busser at 7:30 p.m. today in Bliss Recital Hall. Diane Yazvac will provide piano accompaniment.

The 19 students in James Umble’s saxophone studio will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. Featured pieces, among numerous others, are by Hindemith, Schumann and Poulenc. Yazvac will provide piano accompaniment.

Susan Foster’s voice studio will present An Evening of Song recital at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bliss Recital Hall. Collaborative pianists are Mary Ann Bilas, Jack Ciarniello and Jerry Rezanka. The repertoire includes music from Fauré, Menotti, Verdi and Barber, among others.

All of the public recitals are free.

Free parking is available for the saxophone studio recital at St. John’s in adjacent lots, and for the other recitals in the M30 Wick Avenue parking deck for a nominal fee. Information is available by calling the Office of Community Engagement and Events at 330-941-2307.
