Boardman Walmart donates
school supplies for YCSD students
YOUNGSTOWN — The Walmart Supercenter in Boardman donated four pallets of school supplies to be distributed to Youngstown City School District students.
"I have to thank Walmart for thinking of our scholars and helping them during these tough times," Youngstown City Schools CEO Justin Jennings said in a news release. "I appreciate it, and I know our families do as well."
Notebooks, notebook paper, scissors, paper clips, crayons and other items packed the pallets that school workers picked up from the store last week.
Parent-engagement coordinators at each of the schools will distribute the materials.
"We're grateful that the Walmart Supercenter in Boardman saw that some people need help and that they reached out to YCSD to aid our scholars and families," Linda Hoey, chief of family engagement at YCSD, said.
