BRITE Energy raising funds to light up Dave Grohl Alley in Warren
WARREN — BRITE Energy Innovators announced today (July 17) that it is raising funds for an LED lighting installation in Dave Grohl Alley, just off Courthouse Square in downtown Warren.
The campaign, launched in partnership with the Dave Grohl Alley Committee, will fund an interactive light show in the darkest part of the alley. The more than 25,000 light display also will be capable of responding to visitors' music from a dedicated kiosk housed inside Modern Methods Brewing Co.
BRITE is partnering with Chromaticity Technologies, a Howland-based special-effects lighting and audio firm, to create the display. The project is scheduled to begin in late summer.
Almost 50 percent of the necessary funds have already been secured from community partners. BRITE is looking to raise the additional $10,000 from individual and corporate support.
"We've wanted to pair our mission with the authenticity of the alley for quite some time," Sara Daughtery, BRITE's director of operations, said in a news release. "Tying technology to being able to experience Dave Grohl's music in a new way is very exciting."
