YOUNGSTOWN — Two Mahoning Valley behavioral health providers and sister agencies have taken a proactive stance after being deemed essential businesses by the March 22 Stay at Home order signed into effect by Dr. Amy Acton, director at the Ohio Department of Health.

New Day Recovery & On Demand Counseling provide inpatient medical detox, residential care, recovery housing, medication assisted treatment programs and outpatient behavioral and mental health counseling.

New Day Recovery continues to offer it's 24/7 admissions line and fully staffed facilities.

"We have taken every precaution, recommendation and piece of guidance from the CDC, as well as local, state and national organizations, and government officials seriously to ensure that our facilities are safe, clean and ready to help people," said Meghan Fawcett, New Day director of clinical treatment.

On Demand Counseling, which has offices in Austintown and East Liverpool, moved all scheduled appointments to a Telehealth model on March 30. Clients receiving behavioral and mental health counseling are able to virtually attend appointments with their counselors, with no lapse in their care.

'When it all comes down to it, we are in this together — if that is because of the coronavirus, or addiction, whenever we get creative and work together to solve problems, we're one step closer to a solution." says Dr. Trinetta Masternick, On Demand Counseling medical director.

New Day Recovery and On Demand Counseling hope to spread a message of hope to others during this time, and encourage those struggling with addiction or mental health issues to reach out.

The agencies' social media channels are posting links to online recovery meetings.
