Report: Mill Creek MetroParks board approves deer culling plan

Members of the audience expressed concern after the board of directors at Mill Creek MetroParks unanimously voted to approve the proposed deer culling plan for population control.

Led by president Lee Fry, the board met at 6 p.m. at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm.

They voted to approve the plan to eliminate some white-tailed deer overpopulating the park and negatively impacting other wildlife, such as indigenous plants.

The deer culling is expected to start this September, according to reports.

Their next meeting will be 6 p.m. on May 8 in McMahon Hall at the MetroParks Farm.
