New Bethel Baptist Church to unveil plans for new Youngstown community center on Sunday
New Bethel Baptist Church announced a new place to connect with community members and city officials in the heart of Youngstown.
They’re announcing plans for a new community center, renovated from the church’s former sanctuary at 1507 Hillman St. in Youngstown.
According to Pastor Kenneth Simon, the plans and details for converting the sanctuary into a multipurpose community center will be revealed this Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Members of the Youngstown community, county commissioners, Mayor Jamael “Tito” Brown and City of Youngstown council representatives are expected to be in attendance.
The event is open to everyone.
Simon shared that the community center will provide relevant, meaningful programming for young adults in Youngstown. They’ll also provide a safe community space for educational and awareness events.
We’re working to learn more about who will be in charge of the management of the center and how the city of Youngstown will be involved.
