Voting closed Dec. 5 for the Ohio Paint the Plow contest, but across the border, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation needs help choosing a winner for their contest.

Each winter, schools in western Pennsylvania are encouraged to participate in the PEnnDot Paint the Plow program.

Paint the Plow is a way for students across the state to use their creativity while bringing awareness to plows during PennDOT’s plowing season.

Dozens of students in area high schools come together to complete the projects centering around a safe driving theme, which was “Don’t Race. Allow Some Space” for 2025.

Members of PennDOT will pick a favorite entry that fit the theme with the best original art, and for the Fan Favorite winner, an online voting system is set up allowing community members to vote for their favorite plow.

Community members can visit the PaintThePlow page through Dec. 14 to help determine a regional fan-favorite winner.

The entries are divided into 12 PennDOT district regions for online voting, so multiple counties will have the same voting form.

Participation is limited to one vote per person per district.
