BUSINESS UPDATES | Regional chamber board names 7 new members, reappoints 4 others
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber Board of Directors named seven new members for 2022 and also reappointed four members to new terms.
The new members are:
- Joe Cameneti, lead pastor of Believers Christian Church;
- Maurice Clarett, owner of The Red Zone;
- Bob Davis, president and COO of Aqua Ohio;
- Sabrina Jones, vice president of Academy of Urban Scholars Youngstown;
- Paul Olivier, vice president of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley;
- Holly Swartz, co-owner and vice president of Personal Protected/Hitch-Hiker Manufacturing;
- Shelley Taylor, owner and president of Paige & Byrnes Insurance Agency Inc.
The members reappointed to new terms are:
- Dr. Ronald Dwinnells, CEO of ONE Health Ohio;
- Troy Rhoades, regional external affairs consultant, Ohio Edison/FirstEnergy;
- Eric Shuster, president of Vallourec Star;
- Terrell Washington, owner/operator of HLW Fast Track.
The 2022 board officers remain unchanged. They are:
- Chairman: Michael Schrock, senior vice president, HR manager at Huntington National Bank;
- Immediate past chairman: Donald Kline, group president of Bon Secours Mercy Health;
- First vice chairman: James Gasior, senior executive vice president and corporate development officer of Farmers National Banc Corp.;
- Vice chairman: Matt Blair, attorney and partner at Blair & Latell Co.;
- Vice chairman: Esther Buschau, director of corporate marketing at Cafaro Co.;
- Vice chairman: Dwinnells;
- Vice chairman: Ed Muransky, CEO, The Muransky Companies;
- Treasurer: Neil Kaback, partner, Cohen & Company.
Junior Achievement to host events for young entrepreneurs
Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley will teach youths about starting a business through two workshops and a Youth Market Day at Eastwood Mall.
The JA Start My Business workshops, recommended for youths ages 8 to 14, are scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 17 and 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Eastwood Mall Community Room. Each child who registers for a workshop will receive the JA Start My Business Youth Entrepreneur Workbook, which teaches how to create, research, fund and advertise business ideas.
A Youth Market Day, where young entrepreneurs will offer their products and services to the public, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at the mall. The entrepreneurs will be responsible for table setup, sales of products or services and interaction with customers. Judging and cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.
The workshops, workbooks and Youth Market Day are free through a grant from the Cafaro Foundation.

Deka Lash to celebrate opening of Boardman location
Deka Lash, a Pittsburgh-based company that specializes in lash extensions and other brow and lash services, will celebrate the opening of its new location at 400 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday.
The shop was started by Michael and Jennifer Blair in a studio in Pittsburgh and has grown to more than 100 locations in the United States and Canada. The Boardman location will be the third for owner Nicolette Ventura. She also owns the Greentree and Monroeville locations in Pennsylvania.
Deka Lash offers a variety of services, including lash extensions, brow laminations/waxing, microblading and lash lifts.
“We strive to make all our clients feel better than they did when they entered our studio,” Ventura said in a news release. “We want estheticians/cosmetologists to know that doing our line of work isn’t just a job — it is a career, a successful one. We are so excited to provide these services to the Youngstown area and to meet all of you.”
