Spectrum announced Monday it’s doubled its starting download speeds for Youngstown broadband customers, from 100 megabits per second to 200 megabits per second.

The faster 200 Mbps speeds are now available to Spectrum Internet customers in Youngstown, and the company will increase speeds for current residential customers with Spectrum Internet packages in the coming weeks, the company stated.

“Beginning today, we are doubling starting speeds for millions of customers, providing even more speed for streaming, remote work, and staying connected with family and friends — with no modem fees, data caps or contracts,” said Carl Leuschner, senior vice president for Charter Communications.

Youngstown joins nearly 95% of the company’s 41-state service area that now features 200 Mbps starting speeds, the news release states.
