Trumbull County Tourism Bureau awarded $80K grant for recovery plan
The Trumbull County Tourism Bureau has been awarded an $80,000 grant to develop strategies for tourism development and competitiveness through its Trumbull County Regional Tourism Strategic Recovery Plan.
The grant was awarded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration with funds from the American Rescue Plan, a news release states.
“The tourism industry was hit particularly hard during the pandemic, and investments like these will help communities across northeast Ohio increase tourism, create jobs and bolster the economy,” U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown of Cleveland, D-Ohio, said in the release. “Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, tourism bureaus like Trumbull County’s will be able to continue supporting local businesses and workers, and grow local tourism industries.”
Brown sent a letter to the Economic Development Administration in January, encouraging it to support the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau’s application for funding.
