BUSINESS UPDATES | Southwoods Health introduces new Community Health Talks
Southwoods Health has introduced a new series of Community Health Talks.
The free seminars include physician presentations, followed by an interactive question and answer session. The events will be held throughout the year at the Southwoods Executive Centre Auditorium at Southwoods’ main campus, 100 DeBartolo Place, Boardman. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
The first series will focus on managing arthritis and joint pain. Southwoods’ orthopedic specialists will discuss arthritis and joint pain causes and surgical and nonsurgical treatment options.
“Southwoods is dedicated to helping our community manage their health and well-being,” Ed Muransky, chief executive officer of Southwoods Health, said in a news release. “These talks are an opportunity to educate the public about our services and the latest treatment options available, as well as provide access to our expert physicians.”
Talks are scheduled for noon April 28, 11 a.m. April 30 and 5:30 p.m. May 3.

YNDC to celebrate opening of Glenwood Fresh Market
The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation will celebrate the opening of the Glenwood Fresh Market with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The market at 2915 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, will be open year-round for members to access free, high-quality, fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy food items, a news release states. All residents who are low-income and predisposed to illnesses linked to diet including obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and other related conditions are eligible to become members.
The market is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, Mercy Health Foundation-Mahoning Valley and the HealthPath Foundation of Ohio.
The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
