A new era will begin at Kravitz Deli — owner Jack Kravitz sells Liberty business
Jack Kravitz, owner of Kravitz Delicatessen Inc., is handing the business over to a new family.
Rydar Group LLC, owned by Matthew Rydarowicz of Hubbard, has purchased Kravitz Delicatessen in Liberty, the Garden Café by Kravitz and Inspired Catering by Kravitz, effective Wednesday. The businesses will continue to operate under the Kravitz name, a news release states.
Kravitz Deli was founded by Rose Kravitz in 1939 on the Northside of Youngstown and moved to its present location at 3135 Belmont Ave. in 1970, according to the deli’s website. Jack Kravitz, Rose’s son, joined the business in 1984.
“Kravitz started as a family business and will continue as a family business,” Rydarowicz said.
Rydarowicz, who worked part time at Kravitz Deli, will be joined by his mother, Patricia Rydarowicz, who has run Inspired Catering for the past decade and is the COO of Kravitz Deli. Also, Brianna Rydarowicz, Matthew’s sister, will continue in her role as the manager of Kravitz Deli and the Garden Café.
“The Rydarowicz family is a close, large family involved in this business for many years,” Kravitz said in the release. “I am happy that I could pass this on to another family and hope that it brings them joy and fulfillment as it has to the Kravitz family.”
