BUSINESS UPDATES | Sheely’s presents $10K check to Rich Center for Autism
Sheely’s Furniture and Appliance recently presented a $10,210 check to the Rich Center for Autism.
The funds were raised during Sheely’s first quarter 2022 fundraising effort, and the check was presented to Rich Center officials at Sheely’s North Lima location April 15.
During the fundraising effort, Sheely’s offered $100 off $1,000 purchases when a donation was made at its North Lima and Aurora locations. Sheely’s matched every dollar raised, a news release states.
“In our 70 years of providing excellent furniture and appliances to the region, Sheely’s has made it a point to give back to our community,” Jessica Smith, Sheely’s principal owner, said in the release.
“We were honored to team up with our customers and employees to serve the important work the Rich Center continually does.”
Farmers National Bank combines Boardman, North Lima branches
Farmers National Bank on Monday announced it is combining two branches.
The Boardman branch at 102 W. Western Reserve Road will be combined with its North Lima branch at 9001 Market St., a news release states.
The Boardman branch will close at 4 p.m. Friday, and the combined North Lima branch will open Monday.
“We are excited by all the possibilities that will come with our new combined branch,” Amber Wallace, Farmers’ chief retail and marketing officer, said in the release. “This move will allow us to continue offering our comprehensive slate of financial services while adapting to an ever-changing banking model.”
Mercy Health names new vice president of mission
James Armour has been named vice president of mission for Mercy Health Youngstown and Mercy Health Lorain.
Armour, who will start in the role April 25, will lead initiatives to support the organization’s Catholic heritage, mission and values integration, spiritual health and ethics, a news release states.
Armour began his career as part of the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Nashville. He later served Golden Age Centers of Greater Cleveland and Catholic Charities of Stark County. His career in health care started at Mercy Health as vice president of mission integration in Kentucky. Before returning to Mercy Health, he served as system senior vice president of mission and ministry at the Sisters of Charity Health System.
“We are excited to welcome Jim back to the Mercy Health ministry as a member of the mission team,” Amy Marcum, chief mission officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Samaritan Group, said in the release. “With more than 20 years of experience serving the Catholic ministry, health care systems and nonprofit organizations, Jim will be instrumental in enhancing our mission services in the Youngstown and Lorain communities.”
Historical society donates $500 to Easter Seals
The William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society recently donated $500 to Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties.
The historical society presented a check to the organization at a meeting Saturday.
Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties provides “services to children and adults, and specifically those with disabilities,” according to its website.
“From adult day centers to physical rehabilitation and job training for people with disabilities, Easterseals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life’s challenges and achieve personal goals,” Easter Seals’ website states.
