BUSINESS UPDATES | Lyle Huffman named Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s director of Government Affairs
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber recently announced that Lyle Huffman has been named the new director of Government Affairs.
According to a news release, Huffman will develop and implement an annual action plan advancing public policy promoting economic prosperity for regional chamber members and quality of life for the Valley; serve as a liaison between chamber members and local, state and federal governments; develop the content, agendas and sponsorships for government affairs events; and advocate in Columbus and Washington, D.C., on behalf of regional chamber members and the business community.
Huffman previously was the director of Public Services and Community Development/assistant town manager for the town of Greenville, Pennsylvania. Before that, he was a project manager with Wayne Homes.
“We are privileged to bring on board someone with the credentials, experience and knowledge of government affairs,” Guy Coviello, regional chamber president and CEO, said in the release. “With Lyle’s expertise, we will continue to work closely with our local, state and federal policymakers to improve the business climate in the Valley.”
High Maintenance Studio to celebrate opening
High Maintenance Studio will celebrate its opening at 754 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. June 16.
The studio offers waxing, lash extensions, lip filler, massages, regular hair services and hair extensions, a news release states.

Institute on Taxation seminar at YSU set for June 10
The Institute on Taxation at Youngstown State University, presented by the Williamson College of Business Administration, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. June 10 in Williamson Hall on the YSU campus.
The seminar is for practicing accountants, enrolled agents and tax preparers who want to stay current on tax regulations and laws and learn tax-planning techniques, according to YSU’s website.
Sessions will include Estate Planning, IRS Updates — Protecting Taxpayer Data, Phishing Schemes, IRS Tax Pro Accounts, Pass Through Entities, State & Local Taxes and Current Cases and Rulings.

iSynergy hires Becky Bertuzzi as growth marketer
Canfield digital marketing agency iSynergy earlier this month added Becky Bertuzzi as growth marketer.
Bertuzzi was also named art director for Lift Marketing, a division of iSynergy.
Bertuzzi, a Warren native, has more than 10 years of experience in corporate and private marketing management, a news release states. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations. She later operated her own private digital marketing company, BSquared LLC, and served as the director of marketing at VEC Inc. in Girard.
“Becky brings years of experience in different industries and on multiple platforms,” Steve Cross, owner and creative director at iSynergy, said in the release. “We are thrilled to add a person of her skill and knowledge.
