BUSINESS UPDATES | LV8 Studios program gives students a musical learning experience
Students in LV8 Studios’ Level Up program recently made a trip to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater where they learned about professional concert production.
LV8, a Youngstown-based recording studio, was created to provide a studio experience for local artists, a news release states.
The studio’s summer enrichment program, in collaboration with the Youngstown City School District, teaches students about writing, recording and producing music, the release states.

The recording studio at 1 W. Federal St., Youngstown, also celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday.
Tri-Lakes Library in North Jackson closed until Friday
Tri-Lakes Library, 13820 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson, is closed temporarily due to a staffing shortage.
The library will reopen Friday, a news release states.
Patrons are urged to use the library’s website for online services or visit any open branch of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County.
2 Valley businesses to have ribbon-cutting ceremonies Wednesday
Two Mahoning Valley businesses will have ribbon-cutting ceremonies Wednesday.
QUICKmed Urgent Care will have a ceremony at noon for its new location at 2005 Elm Ave. NE, Warren. The clinic, which provides nonlife-threatening medical treatment and pediatric services, opened June 13. Free physicals for school-age children are available by appointment throughout the summer, a news release states. Appointments with Dr. Peter Kondolios can be scheduled by calling 330-647-6800.
Brenda and Cosmo Iamurri, owners of Steel Valley Smoke Shop will have a ceremony at 4 p.m. to celebrate the opening of their second shop at 3400 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Steel Valley Smoke Shop offers a selection of CBD products, gummies, vape products and various smoking accessories, according to a news release. Erzurum, Dees receive governor appointments
Sergul Ayse Erzurum of Canfield and Haley Lynn Dees of Lisbon recently received appointments from Gov. Mike DeWine, a news release states.
Erzurum has been appointed to the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees for a term beginning June 27 and ending April 30, 2031.
Dees has been appointed to serve as a student member on the Kent State University Board of Trustees for a term beginning June 17, 2022, and ending May 16, 2024.
