BUSINESS ROUNDUP | Windsor Fashions opens new store at Southern Park Mall

Windsor Fashions LLC opened a new store at Southern Park Mall in Boardman on Thursday.

The special occasion and fast-fashion retailer is located near Macy’s and across from Sunglass Hut.

Windsor, which opened its first store in 1937, “focuses on providing a broad selection of on-trend apparel for all the occasions in a woman’s life,” a news release states. “Whether school-based occasions like prom and graduation, seasonal events like Halloween, New Year’s Eve, or everyday occasions like date night and brunch with the girls.”

DONATION: Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC on Thursday donated $10,000 to BRITE Energy Innovators in Warren to help support energy start-ups. “BRITE exists because there’s a belief, we live by — that anyone, anywhere can make a difference in the future of our economy,” Rick Stockburger, BRITE president and CEO, said in a news release. “Having partners that believe in them and our mission is vital to keeping our mission alive. We are grateful to Sweeney for this commitment and look forward to what we can do together.”

RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONIES: Pro Vape & Smoke Shop, 6241 Market St., Boardman, will celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Down Syndrome Association of the Valley, 945 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 12, Boardman, will celebrate the grand reopening of the DSAV Regional Down Syndrome Center for Success of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania with a ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday. ERC Firearms & Training, 700 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, will celebrate its grand opening with a ceremony at 4 p.m. Aug. 19.
