BUSINESS ROUNDUP | Ski Chalet, Penguin City to unveil snowboard, beer can collaboration
The Ski Chalet will host its annual winter kickoff party at Penguin City Brewing Co., 460 E. Federal St., Youngstown, from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday.
The Ski Chalet will unveil its new Youngstown edition snowboard collaboration with winter sports company K2 Sports, and Penguin City will debut a tribute can as part of the collaboration.
“When K2 Sports approached us for this special project, it was only right that we dug into our heavy heritage,” Marc Dunbar, manager and buyer for The Ski Chalet, said in a news release. “Our goal was to build a board for the blue-class working snowboarder — a board that encompasses true grit, hard work and determination.”
Aspasia Lyras-Bernacki, co-owner of Penguin City Brewing, said her company was honored to be a part of the collaboration.
“We have some snowboard fanatics in our family, so being able to create a label with K2 and Ski Chalet was totally rad,” Lyras-Bernacki said.
Friday’s winter kickoff party will include food trucks and an opportunity to purchase the limited-edition Penguin x The Ski Chalet beer. There will be a DJ, a winter fashion show, games, giveaways and a basket auction.
