These Mahoning Valley Big Lots locations start going-out-of-business sales

Last-minute holiday shoppers might want to stop at these discount retail stores in Mahoning Valley and northeast Ohio offering going-out-of-business sales and discounts.

According to Bruce Thorn, CEO and president of Big Lots, Inc., going-out-of-business sales are about to start at Big Lots stores nationwide.

On Dec. 19, Thorn announced the Columbus-based company’s previous purchase agreement with Nexus Capital Management wasn’t going to work out.

“We all have worked extremely hard and have taken every step to complete a going concern sale. While we remain hopeful that we can close an alternative going concern transaction, in order to protect the value of the Big Lots estate, we have made the difficult decision to begin the going-out-of-business process,” Thorn said.

According to USA Today, 400 Big Lots stores have already closed this year, and the rest are set to participate in going-out-of-business sales.

Here’s which stores are open in the Mahoning Valley:

  • Big Lots - Austintown at 4341 Kirk Road
  • Big Lots - Boardman at 7100 South Ave.
  • Big Lots - Niles at 5555 Youngstown Warren Road, Unit 970
  • Big Lots - Warren at 4331 Mahoning Ave. NW
  • Big Lots - East Liverpool at 15977 State Route 170

Big Lots shoppers can shop in-store and online.
