Youngstown-based chocolate company opens new location, holds weekend celebration

A Youngstown-based chocolate company has opened a new location and is holding a grand opening celebration throughout the weekend.

Gorant Chocolatier opened its newest location at 2425 Wilmington Road in New Castle, PA on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The acquisition of Gorant by the Youngstown Chocolate group in 2023 began a new chapter for the 75-year-old chocolate maker, according to the company’s website.

The ownership changes put Gorant’s under the same ownership and management of prominent Valley brands: One Hot Cookie, OH Donut Co., Sweet Sips, and Sweet Marketing and Management.

With the addition of Gorant Chocolates to the portfolio, these combined brands employ over 75 Valley residents throughout the year with additional team members added during the summer and peak holiday seasons, according to the company.

The Gorant menu of products include a variety of chocolates, including our family assortments, individual showcase pieces, chocolate molds, chocolate covered pretzels, and of course our signature Yum Yums®, and more.

The new location will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday.
