Family-owned farm unveils over 200,000 tulips to northeast Ohio spring visitors
This spring, visitors to Canfield’s White House Fruit Farm will get to see over 200,000 tulips in bloom as part of the family-owned business’ newest outdoor experience.
A team of two employees at White House Fruit Farm planted the bulbs last fall and maintain the rows of tulips at the farm, according to owner Debbie Pifer.
“We’ve already got some plans in place to bring it back next spring,” she said.
The family-owned and operated fruit farm unveiled the tulip experience April 23.
“We wanted something new in April, which is a slower month for us,” she said. “It’s a great time for spring flowers, and we thought it would be very appropriate being a fruit and vegetable farm that we have a flower event.”
It’ll remain open until May 3; tickets are $12 for visitors coming on Monday through Friday, and $15 on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors five years old and under are free.
“The community response has been absolutely fantastic,” Pifer said. “We’re thrilled that we’ve provided such a colorful, unique experience here in the Valley. People are very appreciative of all the color, and we hope that it exposes us to some folks who are not quite from the area, but a little further away.”
To stroll through the tulip field, go to the White House Fruit Farm website and select a time slot that’s available between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The participants will meet at 9249 Youngstown Salem Road in Canfield.
“The tulip experience also tells folks that we’re open in the spring. A lot of folks only think of us for summer and fall. So it hopefully expands our business reach a little bit,” Pifer said.
Tulip stems and bouquets are not included but are available for purchase as supplies allow.

In addition to the new spring tulip experience, there are several upcoming events at White House, including the White House Fruit Farm 5K and Kids Fun Run through the orchard on May 3.
