4 new First Watch restaurants coming to Ohio, including first in Mahoning County

First Watch announced four new restaurants are in progress in northeast Ohio, including the first one in the Mahoning Valley.

Construction is underway at the new First Watch next to Condado Taco and Starbucks at 1051 Boardman Poland Road, expected to open by early 2026.

They’re moving into the former Choolaah Indian Barbecue space and expanding to approximately 3,525-square-feet with a covered patio and a bar.

The restaurant will have a total of over 160 seats, according to the public relations manager Mackenzie Garrett.

She said the new restaurant will create 30 jobs for the community operating on a one-shift a day, “No Night Shifts Ever” system.

“This enables [our] teams to enjoy their evenings,” Garrett said. “Upon opening, the Boardman restaurant will feature our core First Watch menu, which takes an elevated approach to traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings. All dishes are made to order using fresh ingredients in a kitchen without heat lamps, microwaves or deep fryers.”

Garrett said menu favorites include the avocado toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and ‘Million Dollar Bacon.’

Michael Weiss, senior director at Goodman Real Estate Services Group LLC, represented First Watch in the Boardman transaction.

Boardman is expected to start serving its first seasonal menu in 2026.

The Boardman First Watch will be open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
