Larry Moliterno is the president and CEO of Meridian HealthCare.

“This expansion will allow us to further strengthen our integrated care model, which combines behavioral health and primary care services under one roof,” he said.

In addition to bringing pharmaceutical services to Meridian’s campus, the expansion includes additional counseling offices, exam rooms and a larger multipurpose training and group space to support staff development and community programs.

“Too often, providers in behavioral health and primary care work in silos. At Meridian, we’re proving that collaborative care is not only possible, but it delivers the best outcomes for our patients,” Moliterno said.

It’s funded partially by a $1 million state capital grant approved by the Ohio Controlling Board earlier this year, and Meridian is working with Murphy Construction and Strollo Architects on the expansion.

“This is such a critical expansion for us and for the Mahoning Valley,” Moliterno said. “It’s our mission to make sure that every individual who walks through our doors has access to compassionate, high-quality care that meets their behavioral and physical health needs.”

The project has been in development for nearly two years and is expected to create 10 new jobs ,adding to Meridian’s team of more than 250 employees across its facilities in the Mahoning and Trumbull region.

Meridian HealthCare began in 1974 and provides primary care, mental health services, chiropractic care and acupuncture, as well as treatment and recovery support from addiction.
