“Your one-stop shop” hardware store now open inside former pharmacy in Cortland

A local couple gave a shuttered Rite Aid pharmacy in the Mahoning Valley a whole new look by transforming it into a new location for their local chain of helpful hardware stores.

Toma and Jamie Leveto are now the owners of three Ace Hardware stores in the Mahoning Valley, including the new Lakeview Ace Hardware in Cortland.

“The community is very grateful and excited to have a great home improvement store conveniently located in Cortland,” the owners said. “We have a great knowledgeable staff that is more than willing to go the extra mile. Whether it is a basic need or a complex plumbing issue, we have you covered.”

The couple also own Handyman Supply of Struthers Ace Hardware and Handyman Supply of Niles.

“In addition, we are adding new merchandise and categories we feel are an added value to our departments. We want to be your one-stop shop,” the owners said.

Lakeview Ace Hardware is open from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday at 569 S. High St. in Cortland.

The Ace Hardware Corporation first started in 1924 in Chicago, now operating nearly 5,200 hardware stores across all 50 U.S. states and in over 60 countries that are locally owned.

Over the past five years, Ace has opened more than 930 new stores in the U.S. and is “on pace to open” more than 175 by the end of 2025.

That’s according to Andy Enright, senior vice president of Ace Hardware’s retail strategy and operations.

“This milestone reflects the continued strength of our local ownership model, our commitment to service, and the trust our customers place in Ace,” Enright said. “Even in a world of rapid change, we believe that helpfulness, human connection and a commitment to community will always be at the center of enduring retail success.”
