Owner of Kravitz Deli announces expansion into Columbiana County
The Garden Café by Kravitz in Fellows Riverside Gardens has closed.
But in early 2026, owner Matthew Rydarowicz wants to welcome new and longtime customers to try the same favorites from Kravitz Deli in a new spot in Salem.
In December, Kravitz Deli posted a video from the inside of their newly-acquired building in Columbiana County.
“We’re putting a Kravitz Deli here in Salem. We’ll have the same location still in Liberty Township, not losing that,” Rydarowicz said.
Founded in 1939 by Rose Kravitz, the Youngstown restaurant is the oldest operating business on Belmont Avenue.
They’re known for made-from-scratch bagels, homemade soup, a full deli case of meats available to purchase by the pound and Pierogi Day alongside organizations like PolishYoungstown.
“We’ll be making lots of deli products, mostly to-go but with some seating area here and there. We want to introduce all our food out here, like corned beef,” Rydarowicz said.
