Full City Roastery set to be first tenant in new downtown East Palestine plaza

Specialty coffee is coming to East Palestine, set to be the anchor tenant in the village’s new business plaza at 74 N. Market St.

Ben and Lindsay Ratner are the owners of LiB’s Market in Salem.

The Ratners are expanding by opening a second location in East Palestine called LiB’s Full City Roastery.

“As East Palestine residents, we’ve seen firsthand what this village has faced,” owners wrote online. “We’re a community that cares for one another and shows strength while facing the unimaginable.

LiB’s Market, the original micro roastery and artisanal space in Salem, will remain open.

At the end of 2024, the Village of East Palestine Community Improvement Corporation purchased a former PNC Bank drive-through lot on North Market Street to turn it into a public plaza.

In February, the village of East Palestine announced Full City Roastery will be the first tenant in the new plaza, now named the East Palestine Community Improvement Corporation Plaza.

“We can’t wait to welcome Fully City Roastery to their new home at the EPCIC Plaza- right in the heart of downtown East Palestine,” the village wrote on Facebook.

In addition to owning the coffee shop, Ben Ratner is the longest-serving member of the Downtown Salem Partnership Committee, focused on revitalization efforts in the area.

He’s a member of the Youngstown Skatepark Association board, and started the annual music-centered celebration called Freed Fest, which honors Salem native Alan Freed, the very first Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
