Toyota Drops Two Cheap Prius Lease Deals For April
For the first time since the Toyota Prius first arrived as an unusually styled hatchback in the 2000s, you wouldn't necessarily buy one only for its efficiency. The current, fifth-generation Prius is one of the most stylish compact cars around. It's got a premium, Lexus-like aura but will still get you further on a gallon of gas than any other hybrid. This month, Toyota is running a cheap lease deal on the Prius LE, so if you're looking to bring your gas bills down with your next car purchase, here's a closer look at the numbers.

This Month's Toyota Prius Lease Deals
The Toyota Prius lease price for April starts at $309 per month over 36 months, with $2,999 due at signing. That's for the LE variant with front-wheel drive. This lease excludes tax, title, licensing, and registration costs. If you drive a lot, be aware that the lease only includes 10,000 miles annually; Toyota will charge $0.15 for every additional mile above this limit.
There are no other Toyota Prius lease offers on the standard model, but you can also lease the Prius Plug-In Hybrid SE. This one costs $359 per month over 36 months, with $2,999 due at signing. Different areas may have different leasing deals, so be sure to check Toyota's website with your unique zip code. Both lease deals outlined here expire on May 4, 2026.
If you aren't interested in one of these Toyota Prius leasing offers, there are many other 2026 trims available to buy. The normal hybrid model starts at $28,550 for the LE and goes up to $36,965 for the Limited AWD. For the more powerful Prius PHEV, expect to pay between $33,775 and $40,470.
Prius Vs. Prius Plug-In Hybrid
Both Prius models are a lot more powerful than the previous-gen model. In the standard Prius, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motor combine for 194 horsepower with FWD or 196 hp with AWD. It's remarkably efficient, with the base LE getting EPA-rated figures of 57/56/57 mpg city/highway/combined.
The latest Prius PHEV also has a 2.0L engine, but its stronger plug-in system develops 220 hp combined. In SE form, expect an efficiency rating of 127 MPGe combined and a 600-mile driving range. Running on electric power alone, the SE can cover 44 miles, so you can treat it like an EV if you're able to charge at home and your daily commute is short enough. Unlike the normal Prius, the PHEV is FWD exclusively.
With a 0-60 mph time of under seven seconds, the Prius PHEV is surprisingly rapid, outperforming many other seemingly sportier hatchbacks on the market.
Final Thoughts
Considering the rising cost of gas in 2026, the Toyota Prius is as sensible a purchase as it has ever been. This month's lease deals are attractive, and going for a Prius no longer means settling for awkward design or a mind-numbing driving experience. In our recent comparison between the Prius, Corolla Hybrid, and Civic Hybrid, the Prius stands out with the best efficiency and versatility of the bunch. It's a car that ticks a lot of boxes for the financially savvy buyer.
