May Lease Offers for the Mini Cooper Start for as Low as $359/Month
The 2026 Mini Cooper in a Nutshell
Pioneering and revolutionary could perhaps best describe the Mini. That said, it applies to the original version, although it has to be said that BMW has done a fine job in turning it into a standalone brand. Whereas many retro-themed designs proved to be a flash in the pan, Mini has managed to stay relevant.
The new-age Mini Cooper first appeared in 2001 for the 2002 model year, and there have been four generations made since. The most recent version made its world premiere in 2023, coming with either ICE or EV powertrains, the latter unavailable in the U.S. The fourth-gen Mini Cooper arrived in America in 2024 for the 2025 model year, and as it's still fresh off a redesign, there are no major changes to report for 2026.
2026 Mini Cooper Lease Deals for May
This month, Mini is offering several lease deals for the Cooper that start below $400 per month for 39 months. The least expensive option is the two-door model, priced at $359 per month and $3,829 due at signing. The five-door can be leased at $369 per month with $4,035 due at signing. As for the Convertible, that's $439 per month with $4,154 due at signing.
There are deals for the Cooper S models, too: the two-door is $369 per month with $4,048 due at signing, while the five-door is $389 per month plus $4,071 due at signing. The Cooper S Convertible is $449 per month and $4,551 due at signing. If that's not enough, the JCW versions of the two-door and convertible can also be leased. It's $449 per month, $4,422 due at signing; and $539 per month, $4,706 due at signing, respectively.
Do note that these are (very) low-mileage limited, and it's capped at just 7,500 per year. It's a fairly hefty $0.25 for every mile beyond that, so it's best to keep tabs on the odometer. These offers are valid until June 1, 2026.
2026 Mini Cooper Highlights
Base prices for the 2026 Mini Cooper range from $29,500 to $44,600 across three body styles, with more trims available within each. For the two-door, there are C, S, and JCW, and the same applies to the convertible. As for the four-door, it's C and S only, as the JCW with more doors is reserved for the Countryman.
Regardless of trim or body style, the Cooper comes with a comprehensive list of standard equipment. Of course, there's advanced driver assists, but there's also a head-up display and an Intelligent Personal Assistant. Other standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
As for powertrain choices, all use 2.0-liter turbo engines but with different outputs depending on the grade. Cooper C models make 161 hp and 184 lb-ft, while the S puts out 201 hp and 221 lb-ft. Go for the JCWs, and that's raised to 228 hp and 280 lb-ft. The JCWs also get an exterior aero kit, a racier interior, a firmer, sportier suspension setup, upgraded brakes, and an electronic front differential.
Final Thoughts
Obviously, it's not the most practical car to buy, but the Mini Cooper is the kind of car one chooses with the heart, not the head. Go for this, and you're rewarded with an engaging driving experience that's hard to beat, and it doesn't cost huge piles of cash, either. It's a bold and individual choice, for sure, and it's something different in a world that's now overrun with crossovers and SUVs.
