Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, Ohio Department of Health director, will give an update on COVID-19 in the state at 11 a.m. Thursday.

He will be joined by Major General John C. Harris Jr., adjutant general of the Ohio National Guard; Dr. Daniel Bachmann, director of emergency preparedness and an emergency physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center; and Dr. Jennifer Wall Forrester, chief medical officer and an infectious disease physician at UC Health.

The Ohio Department of Health on Wednesday reported 20,093 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. That includes 939 new cases in the Mahoning Valley: 460 new cases in Mahoning County (for a total of 46,642), 340 in Trumbull (35,997) and 139 in Columbiana (20,778), according to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard.
