State Rep. Mike Loychik seeks $450K from Ohio capital budget for Flying High
State Rep. Mike Loychik of Bazetta, R-63rd, has requested $450,000 from the state capital budget for Flying High Inc.
The requested funds for Flying High, which has offices in Mahoning and Trumbull counties, would be used to expand the organization’s reach and purchase and renovate spaces in locations with high rates of unemployment, a news release states.
“The No. 1 challenge in economic development is providing enough talent for employers,” Guy Coviello, Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber president and CEO, said in the release. “Flying High provides some of the best workforce development services in the country.”
Flying High offers services to help individuals further their professional development while assisting businesses with their workforce challenges. The organization offers a vocational school, job readiness program, GED tutoring, the Working Toward the Future Program, GROW Urban Farm, placement assistance, nutritionally assisted alcohol and drug treatment, peer support and the Eagle’s Nest Recovery House, the release states.
“It’s important for the state to support quality programs like this, which can then be replicated throughout Ohio so the entire Buckeye State can be more competitive,” Loychik said in the release.
