The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday awarded a $3.1 million grant to Trumbull Community Action Program for its Head Start program.

The Trumbull Community Action Program received the same amount of funding last year as part of a five-year project funded through the Administration for Children and Families and the Office of Head Start and will support TCAP’s Head Start program through Oct. 31, according to a news release. The grant project runs until Oct. 31, 2023.

“Head Start has a proven track record, and their programs are crucial to serving the educational needs of our most vulnerable children,” U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, said in the release.
